    Smart goals really aren't far off what we use as engagement goals since they are a measure of time on site, etc. I think this is a nice thing to introduce for adwords users who don't spend a lot of their time actually doing PPC.

      It sort of feels like that's what Google is going for with a lot of its AdWords updates. They're trying to make it as user-friendly and dead simple to use as possible, but it's hard to replace putting actual time into managing an account.
