Tweets to Show Up in Google Search Results... Again

  • Renee Reply

Google and Twitter have reached an agreement to let Google have full access to the "firehose" at Twitter. If you recall, the two companies had a similar agreement in 2009 that lasted about 2 years. Looks like it will be a couple months before this rolls out.

I am not surprised that Google would connect with Twitter considering Google+ is not a favorable choice for social networking. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I think that google has plans to sync twitter API into google searches...E.G. now with 'breaking news' you'll get relevant tweets at the second of instead of 3-6 minutes old. Other browsers already do this...google was kind of the odd man out.

Oh Google... I think they're realizing that Google+ isn't the social network of choice for most :)

I think Google generally has trouble admitting that its social offering is not the most relevant.

I really would not like any of my tweets to show up on Google unless they are going to be faved by a million people. Thx.

I do like the change, but my only worry is that integrating "incorrect" tweets about say, a world news happening, may lead to misinformation and even more confusion.
