HubShout SEM System Release Notes

SERP Tracker

  • Chad Reply

    We are rolling out some enhancements to the SERP tracker today. There are two updates:

    1. We have added Bing rankings to the SEO - Analytics and SEO - Keywords tab. In order to accommodate the change we had to shuffle and rename the columns.

    2. The ranking that appears on the screen is now the average of the last two readings. We check the rankings for each keyword every seven days.

    We are catching up for some ranking data that was out of date. We will have all ranking information refreshed before the month end reports go out to customers.

    If you have any questions, please ask here.

    Chad - Two questions, but, first, thanks for continuing to improve your systems and processes!

    (1) Since clients may get a report on the first of the month, and I may not have a meeting with them until mid-month, is there a way to refresh the data prior to holding my meeting. If that is not possible, is there a way to see the last reported date in the rank tracker so that I can easily explain when the results were pulled.

    (2) In the near future, will we be able to see if the keyword is ranking for the various Local Maps, Google, Yahoo and Bing?
    Again, Thanks

    @jeff

    1) The dashboard data is always the last 2 readings. We are currently pulling them every seven days. You can't set the anniversary date but we believe that is fine because serp rankings generally change slowly. For printed reports, you can always set the next report send date on campaign details to run a fresh report with today's data.

    2) We are now collecting whether the Google result is a map listing. We didn't release that today because we are still reviewing the data. We hope to be able to publish whether the result is a map result. I'm sure Eric will jump in here because this is in flux and map listing today may not be the same for carousel results.

    A few other notes on the NEW ENHANCED SERP TRACKING feature:

    1) You can add a ZIP CODE (US-feature only) for geo-specific results from Google.

    2) We have expanded the number of countries we can track. For all NON-US settings, you need to re-select your country. This is a VERY small number of international customers. US-based customers do not need to update anything.
