SEO Info and Ranking Info don't match

  • Ryan Reply

In my SEO dashboard it shows that I have:

    Domain Authority: 22
    MozRank: 5.1
    External Links: 130
    Root to Root: 20

In my research dashboard it says that I have:

    Domain Authority: 17.5
    MozRank: 7
    Links: 11
    Root to Root: 7

Why don't these match? If a client uses the research tool to look at my website rankings I'd like them to see accurate ones. Or when they research their own website I don't want them to think we are fluffing the results on the SEO tab.

I've seen my research results go up since I've started my campaign, but I'm wondering why it takes so long to be updated, if that's the issue.

Also the keywords I'm tracking in my SEO dashboard and are ranked for don't show up in the research tab, not even the ones I'm ranked on the first page of Google for.

Does anyone know anything about this?

It is probably best to raise a ticket to look at the specifics more closely. Technically the data for those services are stored separately and at certain times in the month you might see a slight difference. Please keep in mind that Moz only updates their data once per month. I wouldn't expect the differences to be as big as you report.

As for the SERP tracker, I've been spot checking 100's of rankings and they look really good for me. Raise a ticket so we can double check your setup. Please remember that when you compare rankings you should be logged out of the search engine and clear your cookies. That makes sure that your search isn't using your personal info.

I'll raise a ticket about it.

What I meant when I said comparing rankings was the difference between the keywords I'm tracking and the keywords that the research tool says I'm ranked for. I've checked the rankings in Google and those are accurate.
