Possible to Edit Pre-made Email Templates?

  • Member 9381 Reply

Look out, this is a pretty advanced question! :) I am simply looking to send out information to clients once a month and was wondering if it is possible to manipulate the pre-made email templates without personally editing the html coding. Changes I'd like to make include color adjustments, dropping logos/objects into various areas, moving/deleting/adding text boxes, etc. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Definitely advanced but it sounds like you have some good ideas. Some of the items are already supported some are not. First, our WYSIWYG editor uses most of the mail chimp markup language since it has some traction with the 3rd party template providers. We don't support all of their tags but most of the basic ones.

So, if you started with a basic template and used the markup language, you could use the WYSIWYG editor to adjust:
    1) dropping logos / objects into various areas
    2) you could certainly edit text boxes (moving/deleting/adding requires a change to the template)

Color changes would require updates to the template.

What kind of information are you looking to send out? It almost sounds like you want to send reports. Is that right?

Great question. Sounds like you are right on the line of what the WYSIWYG Email Template Editor will handle.

Woops^ Obviously, I am as tech-saavy as they come. Haha. To answer the question above; I am creating a monthly newsletter to send out to our clients each month. (I work for a marketing company and am providing informational content to clients that are featured on our coupon site.)
I shared your answer with a co-worker and it sounds like he will be able to help me acheive what I was hoping to. Thanks again for your help. :)
