Concerns about New User Changes

  • Member 5266 Reply

    Hi guys,

I just went in to add a new user to an existing account, and saw the changes. It appears that when I add a user, the user will be automatically notified via email.

Here's why I'm not happy about the change:

I often wait a week to a week and a half before showing clients the portal/dashboard. This is because I want analytics to import some data. Also, I setup users before I do these walkthroughs.

I'm concerned that having a client login and try to look around before I've walked them through everything (even if I wait to add module access), will confuse them. So basically, automatically emailing the new user is inconvenient for the way I work with clients.

Also, I prefer to show proposals to clients in person before I send them the link after our appointment. Will this automatically email even brand new users?

Any advice, or anyone else want to chime in?

WOW, that is a big change. Personally, as moved 20 plus clients over from another provider, I choose not to give my clients access until I am more familiar with Hubshout. Forcing me to provide immediate access to a client seems counter-productive, and puts me in a position that I will just have to come up with a wor-around until I want clients to have access.

Agreed, I have not given my clients access yet. Migrated them over but since they were added mid month in April the data is only partial so I did not want to provide them access to there is sufficient data for them to review.

I am in agreement here. I would prefer to have control over when I give clients access. Especially when I get emails that say. You sent me a login, but nothing happens when I login. makes me look unprepared

So for now I have just created a new account and picked keywords and services, all without having to add a user. so the question is, will they launch this new campaign without a user being assigned? If so, that could be the solution

Hi guys... I thought it was too quiet on this thread from Friday:

We hear you.. And will be very responsive on this issue. But we are also trying to increase security to make certain nobody gets into an account they should not be able to.

Agreed. But as stated above, I think you still have control over this...

    1) Build the Account with no user.

    2) Build the User Profile when you are ready to send them a welcome email with password.

Let me know if this doesn't work.

Thanks Adam. yeah I figured out a way around that, as stated above, after I posted initially.

It seems to have worked just fine, and I will send the client information when I am ready.
