    Hey Guys, as a new member to the Hubshout group, I would want to exchange insights on what your best client getting method is? As an SEO Reseller, or Consultant, creatively acquiring leads is vital to business growth. So if you have some good ideas and are willing to share, please feel free.

    I would always recommend starting out locally. If there is a bar/restaurant/store that you frequent, check out their website. Is there one? Is it mobile friendly? Is it modern? Is the Home Page title tag "Home Page?" These are all great conversation starters to get your foot in the door with a prospect who already knows and presumably trusts you. Maybe you do the first couple jobs at cost, in exchange for a recommendation, or (even better) a client list of theirs, or a link on their site, or advertising in their establishment.

    If you have a particular vertical, such as salons for example, Google "hair salon rochester ny" (or whatever city you are in) and then see who is on page one. Look at the top organic results. Then go to page 3 or 4 and check out those websites. See what kind of differences there are and also use some of Jamie's suggestions for questions to ask. Go after the people on page 3 or 4 or even farther. It is easier to show progress when a client comes in from position 100 to position 40. Once you get to page 2 or even page one below the fold, it becomes increasingly difficult and more time consuming to move the rankings.

    I also recommend becoming a very active member in the community. Attend Chamber of Commerce meetings, local seminars, get in Meet Up groups, attend advertising and marketing events, volunteer... make yourself known in the community. People will start to build trust with you when you're not selling them. A lot of times, people don't know what "SEO" is, so to make it as simple as possible when people ask "What do you do?" You could answer "I help businesses get on the first page of Google."
