What can be done to address "Not Provided"?

  • Matt Reply

This was the seminar that I was telling you about on the "not provided" issue. I think most of the important stuff was in the first 30 minutes and he mentions a study that would be good to download. This is an issue that will catch us in the shorts if we don't address it early.

I think Hubshout as an organization will have to give us as resellers some real answers on how to address this "not provided" issue and the ones who answer it best will grow the strongest. It is growing into a problem fast (40%) and with SSl being the default on all mobile devices, it will grow very fast in the next two years. We need to beat the competition to the punch and come up with some data that can replace or mimic the Google data.

I look forward to your thoughts.

You should ask Chad about his dinner with Google last night. I almost fell out of my chair with what they pitched related to keyword data they receive from other search engines... Chad - You HAVE to share some dirt here. It's unbelievable.

I actually phoned in on a meeting with Google & one of our clients today... needless to say I was stunned with what Google is doing. I did get a huge kick out of Chad's rant/argument with them though. I had to kill my phone's mic for a couple of minutes so they wouldn't hear me laughing... I'll let Chad talk about it since he was physically in the room :)
